We Want to Hear Your Voice!

The New River Voice will be a publication that connects with the community. And for that reason, we are looking for volunteer bloggers who can let us know what's happening in their part of the NRV. So from Pearisburg to Pulaski, Eggleston to Elliston, Fairlawn to Floyd, we want members of the community to be the eyes and ears for the rest of us. Let us know the events in your area. Give us the latest news from your neck of the woods.

Wanna know how to have your voice heard by Voice readers as a blogger? Contact us at editorial@newrivervoice.com.

Also, we need a name for our street team of Voice bloggers, and we're looking for suggestions from you! Let us know your thoughts for a name of this fine group of citizens by sending us an e-mail to the address above.

Stay tuned for more updates on the New River Voice!

Get Ready for a New Voice in the Valley!

The New River Voice will be a bi-weekly alternative newspaper and companion Web site that serves the New River Valley in Southwest Virginia. The New River Voice will cover the people, politics, and culture of the area. It will provide in-depth news analysis, beyond the coverage of traditional newspapers, and will offer news about the arts and entertainment of the region.

Look for our debut in August! But until then, this blog will detail the process—and the progress made—in starting up such a publication. We have a LOT of work to do, and for you to get a new voice for the valley, we need your help!

Right now the Voice is looking to put together a team of advertising sales representatives. See the ad for the position here.

Also, if you are a southwest Virginia author (sorry no self-published or children's books at this time) or an area band and have a book or CD that you'd like us to review, send it to our attention at:
New River Voice
P.O. Box 1411
Radford, VA 24143

Likewise, if you're a publisher or record label that works with artists and writers in the New River Valley, add us to your mailing list.

And if you have suggestions on articles that you'd like to see in the New River Voice, let us know by contacting us at
editorial@newrivervoice.com

And last, but in no way least, we need advertisers! If you want a new, exciting, and progressive publication in the NRV, we need plenty of advertisers because the cost to you, the reader, for each issue of the Voice is nothing. Zero! Nada! It's gonna be free! But to give you a free publication every two weeks, and for us to be able to eat, we'll need some ad dollars. So get the word out about your business by advertising to the super-cool readers of the Voice. We'll be distributing 10,000 copies of the Voice every two weeks! Contact us for more advertising info!
advertising@newrivervoice.com

Oh, and speaking of distribution and circulation (I guess advertising wasn't last), if you'd like to have a few copies of the New River Voice at your place of business, we'd love to have you as one of our drop points. For now, contact editorial@newrivervoice.com for that request.

Get ready New River Valley. Things are going to get interesting. We're looking forward to serving you!
